  • Dr Jayakrishnan A.G. has extensive experience of 35 years in the field of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. He has performed over 20,000 open heart surgeries in adults and children. Dr Jaykrishnan is a specialist in coronary artery bypass surgery and he is one of the first surgeon in India to perform a beating heart bypass surgery and a bypass surgery without using any donor blood.
  • After completing his MS (General Surgery) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore Dr Jaykrishnan obtained a 5 year training in adult & paediatric cardiac surgery and cardiac transplantation at the National Cardiac Surgery Centre, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin, Ireland and  Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Dublin, Ireland Later in the year 1990, he was appointed as Consultant, Cardiac Surgeon at King’s College London and Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne where he served for 5 years.
  • Upon returning to India in 1993 Dr Jayakrishnan, established the Cardiac Surgery Department at Sree Uthradom Thirunal Hospital and PRS Hospital, Trivandrum. And in the year 2000, he was appointed by Omega Hospital, Mangalore as a Chief cardiothoracic Surgeon & Director where he established the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Dr Jaykrishnan also served as visiting consultant to Nawaloka Hospital, Colombo, Sri Lanka over 20 yrs and to the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital for over 5 Yrs and also KMC Hospital , Ambedkar circle, Mangalore .
  • He was Professor of surgery at Fr. Mullers Medical College Hospital, Mangalore. 
  • Currently he is head of the department of Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at Justice KS Hegde Hospital, derlakatte, Mangalore
